The Source:
The Eucalyptus wood used for this piece came from felled branches of a landscape tree that damaged cars in the parking lot of a law office in Placentia, CA. The elegant shape and black dye application make this masterpiece really stand out.
The Technique:
Bill Haskell uses his own unique methods to create his art. This piece is formed using a one-way lathe then hand-carved, selectively sanded, sealed and polished for an interesting contrast of ultra-smooth exposed textures and a natural, raw finish.
